IAM Building

IAM Building, commonly known as Municipal Council, was once used as the office building of the deliberative and municipal management organ under the Macao governing authorities. In 1784, it was renovated in a Baroque architectural style. After having fallen into disrepair for a prolonged time and decimation caused by typhoons, it was reconstructed in 1876, with the adoption of the Neoclassic architectural style. During decades, the building was renovated multiple times until 1940. The architectural exterior that is seen currently was finally formed in 1940.
